S&C QUICK INFO
-
After making an enquiry, I will speak with you to learn more about the individual athlete or team, where you are in your respective season, any specific needs to meet, what is feasible in terms of frequency and duration of sessions, and what you are hoping to get from them.
From there we will determine the best approach for you before getting started!
-
This is completely dependent on the age and experience of the participating athlete(s), their sport, desired outcomes, and where they are in season. Sessions will typically include both targeted strength development and metabolic conditioning (i.e. high intensity fitness work). They can also include balance, speed, agility, power, and skill development.
-
I consider myself a youth strength & conditioning specialist and primarily work with young and developing athletes. This means I include a lot of general athletic foundations and education in the way in which I deliver sessions.
-
Strength & conditioning is about developing the underlying capacities that allow you to thrive in sport, not spending more time training the sport itself. By nature S&C is a 'non-specific' style of training and because of that extensive previous experience in a sport is not necessary to be able to effectively deliver S&C for it. I will ensure I am across the physical demands of the sport and aware of how it is played (and when relevant the requirements of different positions), alongside working with sport coaches to understand what they want to achieve from S&C training with their athletes.
